TGIF - the weekend is, literally, JUST around the corner!

Morning readers,

Made it through another week and, actually ... we had some pretty nice weather this week too, not bad considering we're nearly at the middle of October.

I've a make to share with you today ....... using more of my new stash, along with some of my VERY old stash - the sparkle mod podge. I DID wonder whether it might have gone off, yes, I've had it THAT long! Thankfully, it hadn't! If it had then I might have had to use stickles or dimensional gloss - sometimes, it's just good to break out the older stash.

My C6 card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6/A2 card and matching envelope
  • White and red card, cut to fit and mat
  • Hearts images (FRS675 - NBUS) stamped using Memento tuxedo black, Versafine Clair, charming pink and red tulip inks
  • TCP sentiment (S.5845.CL) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Sparkle mod podge applied over hearts ... with my finger!! I tried a brush but it left textured lines, which I wasn't happy with

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. NBUS - challenge No. 31 - USE NBUS
  2. Gem of a Challenge - challenge No. 21 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Leanne's World - challenge No. 43 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. AAA Cards - CAS challenge No. 200 - CELEBRATIONS
  5. The Paper Shelter - challenge No. 487 - TWO COLOURS (red and pink)

And now ... I find I have rediscovered the joy of sketches ..... particularly CAS sketches .... it's been YEARS since I've used an embossing folder too, so it was nice to break one out for this monochrome and masculine card.

My C6 card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6/A2 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and black cut to fit and mat + snippets of card for my image panel and sentiment panel
  • Inkadinkado motorcycle image (96346-K) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Nesting circles used to die cut the motorcycle circle and matting layer
  • Clearly Besotted sentiment (from mini calligraphy) stamped on to a snippet of white card using Versafine Clair nocturne ink, before trimming to a banner shape
  • I ran my Quickutz embossing folder through my big shot with a piece of white card at one end, to partially emboss my card

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. CAS Card Making - challenge No. 20 - SKETCH - see below
  2. HLS - October Dies challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. The Male Room - challenge No. 155 - BLACK AND WHITE
  4. Water Cooler Wednesday - challenge No. 326 - ALL ABOUT OCCASIONS
  5. Sisterhood of Crafters - October 13th challenge - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

When I woke up yesterday morning ..... the sky looked like this ...

As the day wore on it brightened up to sunshine and around 18°c! More like August than mid-October. Whilst out for my walk I was again struck by how many fab little footpaths we have close to us - this one was a shortcut between some modern houses and leads to an office development, not that you would EVER guess!

These hearts are great Kathy and love the sparkly modge podge over the top and then the bit of embossing to accompany your motorbike and sentiment, perfect in black and white and a wonderful masculine make. I'm glad you are finding lots of great little paths and tracks around where you live for your morning walk and let's hope this fine weather lasts a bit longer. x
