Thankful Thursday

Our first full week of summer vacation!  It's a nice time of year to make new memories and carry on traditions.

This week I am thankful for....

~ my husband being off on Monday and that we were productive during the weekend.

~ attempting to “help” my oldest when he was moving the camper.

~ my SIL bringing their chair to Titus.

~ my boy being out of school and his help with the plan for summer activities.

~ going to a ladies' supper at church.  We ate supper and decorated a cupcake.

~ a branch that snapped in a storm that didn't hit my husband's car that was parked closely.

Have a day of blessings!

Thankful Thursday

Hooray!  It's the last day of school.  I didn't think I'd have a very busy week but it didn't end up that way.

This week I am thankful for...
~ my husband repairing the lawn mower.  The blades were messed up.

~ see our oldest be a groomsman for his friend.  They have been friends for many years and went to summer church camp together.  I'm also thankful Caleb has had a friend like this in his life.

~ having our DIL ride along with us to the wedding.  She's a blessing!

~ my boy finishing up 4th grade!  Lots of smiles and excitement when I dropped him off this morning! We also finished baseball this week, it was a fun season!

~ the beautifully sweet wedding we went to on Sunday as well as safe travel.

~ our dog being home after an unexpected incident while we were gone.

~ the wonderful staff and teachers at our school.  They do a wonderful job pouring into the children and caring about them.

Have a day of blessings!

Thankful Thursday

The weeks go by so quickly and we are almost out of school for summer break.

This week I am thankful for...

~ my husband helping get rid of a mouse in the house.  Blech!   He didn't squeal/scream like me when I saw it.

~ Mother's Day message first thing from my oldest. I also got to have lunch with both my boys on Friday, unexpectedly...we didn't have school that day and I was glad it worked out with Caleb working on our fence.

~ having our DIL join us for lunch on Mother's Day.

~ being able to celebrate our youngest this week, we are proud of his accomplishments this school year.  He had a great and fun baseball game this week as well.

~ having our dog at our new home.  We've missed him!

~ our mothers and being able to see them both this weekend.  We also saw other family because we traveled for a graduation.

~ salad and fruit for lunch.  I also had avocado this week which I don't have often but was good (except for the bite I got that wasn't!).
Have a day of blessings!

Thankful Thursday

One week into May!  This week I am thankful for....

~ the way my husband can calm me with his words and gentle touch of his hand.

~ my son and DIL celebrating their first wedding anniversary.  They got to have a little weekend getaway.  I'm thankful for them both and their marriage.

~ reading at night before bed with my little boy.

~ my memories with my Meemaw...her calls, letters, visits, funny sayings.  Today was her birthday.  I miss her!

~  getting shelves and drawers cleaned in the kitchen and bathroom to start putting stuff in them.

~ that the workers finished the inside part of our house.  It has been a blessing for them to do the work.  They did a good job.

Have a day of blessings!

Thankful Thursday

A new month!  Happy May!
What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for...

~  my husband helping me get breakfast ready in the morning and peel potatoes/carrots to go in the roast.  It's odd that I leave to take Titus to school before him!

~  when I get a call from my oldest randomly but at the perfect time.

~  when my DIL calls to tell me about the cute cows she passed on our road.

~ my little boy's sweet heart and caring ways.  I love the kind things he says.

~ having a nice visit with my Dad.

~ the rain this week.  Everything is growing.  We need to mow.  Also it shows us where the holes are at in our yard and where we need to fill up.

~ being able to volunteer at a local event today.  It was so fun!

Have a day of blessings!

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. My very first edition of The Wednesday Hodgepodge was published on November 10, 2010 (linked here if you're curious). Tell us something about your life from that era.
In 2010 we had only 1 son and he was in 1st grade.  That is the year we moved from our house of 7 years to the house we just moved out of.

2. What's a song you love that relates to time in some way?

Because He Lives
Listen to it here.

Lyrics:
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,Because He lives, all fear is gone;Because I know He holds the future,And life is worth the living,Just because He lives!

3. May is nearly upon us. When did you last need to yell 'MAY DAY-MAY DAY!!'?

We asked for help with moving.  We were thankful for those that could come move boxes and pack up some things too in the kitchen.

4. How do you feel about food trucks? Is this a dining experience you enjoy?  Do you have a favorite What's something you've ordered from a food truck?

I'm not really too big of a fan.  We went to a park with a bunch of food trucks for a birthday for a niece and it was a nice experience.  Everyone could get what they wanted which was nice and I tried something new.  I don't remember what it was called now.

Does anyone else read the Hope Harbor books by Irene Hannon with Charlie's taco truck?  I want to try a fish taco when I hear about them in the books in this series.

5. We're bidding farewell to April...what are three adjectives you might use to describe the month you're leaving behind.

busy
fast
bittersweet

6. Insert your own random thought here.

So much has happened this month.  We are glad to be in the new house and excited to be done with renovations so we can unpack and make it homey.  It already feels like home to me.  I love how it is turning out....the paint, the carpet, the floor, the cabniets.

It's a rainy Thursday.  We've had quite a bit of rain here over the weekend and now more today.

This week I am thankful for...

~  this new "adventure" with my husband and figuring out the things about our new house together.

~ when I say something outloud that I know my oldest will say or comment about and then he comes in and says that very thing!

~ my DIL coming to watch Titus play baseball again.

~ getting to celebrate our 10 year old with family.  The weather was nice when they were here.  I told them bring a folding chair because we don't have furniture in yet.  It was a fun afternoon.  We had sandwiches, chips and ice cream floats.

~ the floors are almost done in the house.  They have been adding the trim and doing the tile work this week.  It is so exciting to see it. Also the lights being up gives it a different feel/look as well.

~  the coziness of the camper to give me a space to work while the workers are in the house.  I have a little heater I needed to turn on when I first came in here in the mornings to get the chill out of the air. I've missed my card writing during this crazy busy moving time so I've worked on some of those too.

~  a beautiful Easter service, the flowering of the cross and lunch at my Mom's.

Have a day of blessings!
