Friday and here comes the weekend, another day closer to normality?

Morning readers,

Start of the Easter weekend and the weather's gone colder and greyer, in typical fashion ... still, we can meet outside!! Woo Hoo and Happy Easter

I've a make to share with you today ....... I recently unpacked a gel plate I'd had for some considerable while and used it for the first time. I pulled just four prints off in one sitting, using the same colours and have, so far, made a card and now the two projects in this post. This leaves me one more print to use - I am LOVING the colour combination! Should you wish to see the earlier card then please pop along to my blog post here, where you can see how I achieved them. Whilst it's got pink in it, I think this card works as a girl or a guy card - whaddya reckon readers?

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 6"x6" card and matching envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit (one already gel printed)
  • One piece of deep aubergine card, cut to mat
  • Carabelle images (from SA60118) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne and purple delight ink
  • Creative Expressions sentiment (from Urban Beats) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 154 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Crafty Sentiments - Mar 30th challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Little Red Wagon - challenge No. 595 - BIRTHDAY
  4. Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Water Cooler Challenge - challenge No. 312 - ALL ABOUT OCCASIONS

Now I've another make to share with you today ....... this time an Artist Trading card ...... using a print from a gel plate experiment, like the above card, and previously blogged about (see it here)

My ATC using the gel plate background

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of leftover card in black and my gel plate background cut down to fit
  • Craft Emotions foliage (from 130501/1237), Hero Arts Dragonfly (from CL.477) and Stampers Anonymous sentiment (from CMS155) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • White Tsukineko gelly roll gel pen used to doodle a border

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Try It On Tuesday - Mar 30th challenge - HELLO SPRING
  2. TTCRD - Mar 30th challenge - ANYTHING GOES

And, since I've spent some quality time at the ToC (that's Table of Craftiness) lately, I have a third make to share with you today ..

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 6"x6" card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and textured blue, cut to fit and mat
  • Creative Expressions border (from CEC830) stamped using Versafine Clair paradise ink
  • Creative Expressions chevrons image (from CEC851) stamped using Versafine Clair cheerful ink
  • Clearly Besotted sentiment (from "mini calligraphy") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Using a paint brush I applied twinkling H2O water colour, in sunburst, to the flower petals, to co-ordinate with the yellow inking

PLUS (not shown) Twinkling H2O in sunburst
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Tuesday Morning Sketches - challenge No. 599 - SKETCH ... see below
  2. HLS - April watercolour challenge - ANYTHING GOES - with water colour

Earlier this week, when we had the GORGEOUS weather (as opposed to the EASTER weather) I was able to sit outside for a couple of hours, with my book - it was fabulous, doesn't look so promising for the weekend though, sadly!

You look perfectly ready for the summer there Kathy!

FABULOUS card and ATC made with your gelli prints. I've a mind to get my plate out again today after seeing them! Er, I'm gonna say GIRL card because of the amount of pink!

Another lovely CAS card too.

Happy Easter. xxx

You have been very busy at the ToC Kathy and with great results using your gelli plate makes in very creative ways. The first card looks great with the added stamping and a very pretty look to the ATC with the pretty silhouette flowers, dragonfly and a lovely sentiment, and lastly the blue and yellow combination for another excellent birthday card using those super CE stamps, so bright and pretty! Love the photo and yes, unfortunately that cool breeze seems to have sprung up today but still bright. Hope you have a good Easter weekend. x

I love how you use your many stamps to add texture and interest to your cards. And of course, your use of color as well - the combination of them makes your cards look like they have so much going on in them. Thank you for joining the HLS Watercolor challenge with your fascinating cards!
