Thursday Fiction 421: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“Well all alone I didn't think about that,” Isabelle answered.

“Let's go take care of it,” Romulus said opening the door of the car.

Isabelle followed him out. The ground was muddy with rain. She was happy to have her boots but the shoe laces would need a good wash before she was able to use them again. She shouldered her backpack and walked behind Romulus trying to keep her feet on the dried crust as much as possible. It was pretty slippery.

The house was made of wood, and build half on stilts over the lake.

“Eric's grand-father came here to fish until his parents put him in the retiring home. He almost burned alive in this house, you can see the traces on the wall.” Romulus said.

Wednesday Snippet 423: Fairy World 64

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"What? She dared to ask," the dark shadow said, "This is exactly what you were looking for. How to dive into someone's mind when dark magic is involved."

"It's the third time you tell me it's the exact thing I'm looking for," Brownie said sighing and taking the book reluctantly. "The first time, you would have me dive into the mind of every fairy present in this realm by splitting my consciousness, it was used only once, as a prank and the witch using it had to be institutionalized. The second time, you wanted me to get out of my body so that the mind of Kallisto would possessed me leading to both of us dying. So excuse me if I'm being a little bit skeptical."

"Well, I made some mistake while reading, you're noisy and distracting," the dark shadow answered for his defense. Brownie rolled her eyes and looked at the book.

"The third paragraph," the dark shadow said, "That's the one, I promise you, that's the one."

Tuesday Travel 219: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 66

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

Brownie stopped in her tracks in the middle of the wagon. Two men had entered. She had thought they were demons at first because they were wearing those long black robes with the bleeding inverted Christian cross at the front. She looked right and left. Every conversation had stopped. The two men in front of her, they were not demons, they didn't have horns and they didn't have wings which meant that they could see her. She tried to figure out in her memory if she had ever seen humans behaving like demons if there had ever been humans in the cave with her, with the hunter. It was a first, she was sure of it. How did they recruit humans anyway.

“Why aren't you in your seat?” One of the man asked her.

Mystery Monday 216: Murder at the Conference 113

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

I took a deep breath, if she knew that little, it was going to be really hard to get it through her.

“I hadn't have any panic attacks in years. They stopped when I left my home town to go to university. I changed my environment and that was the end of them. Then I met your boyfriend.”

“Don't tell me you really believe that he is responsible.”

“One night, we were skypping and he started talking to me about his ex-girlfriend and how pretty she was and how perfect she was and how he took her to the aquarium and how we could replay that date. That's when it happened. I was the replacement of the girl he loved and who cheated on him, my heart skipped a beat, the space closed around me, I couldn't catch my breath. I fell on my side holding my heart until the attack stop by itself. I thought I was having a heart attack. It had never been that bad before. It had never involved that deep pain. The pain latest three days after that. Any mention of his ex, any mention of breaking up like he did every three weeks. It threw me in a real mess, in a really dark place I had hoped never to see again. That's how it all started. He never saw it because most of his attacks on me, most of the triggering part was when he texted me. I would have panic attacks at night and go to the bathroom, waiting for them to pass.
