My earliest memory is standing in my crib, hanging onto the rail, dancing along with the televised version of Elvis Presley’s last concert. It was night, dark out, and the only light was the glow of the television. My aunt was babysitting me, no doubt because my mom was at work. I was at my aunt’s apartment–she was and still is an avid Elvis fan. In fact, we used to drive around town in her Impala convertible and listen to 8-tracks of Elvis albums. She taught me to say “Elvis is sexy,” when I was a toddler, and I still have the 45 records of his albums that she gifted to me.
There still is a great allure to Elvis and his movies. Though I don’t listen to his music as much as i used to, I do smile when I hear a song or one of his movies comes on the television. It’s a good memory.
Elvis was sexy, lol! Thanks for sharing.
My mom is still kicking herself for throwing away her 45 of Teddy Bear.
what a memory.
How much fun it must’ve been to drive around in the convertible with Elvis blasting.
Wow, that’s a super early memory!
I remember where I was when Elvis died 😉 Thanks for sharing!
