Here are the fill-ins:

  1. I have broken _______________________________ bones.
  2. When I go out to breakfast, I order________________.
  3. As Summer officially comes to an end, _____________.
  4. Before this year is over, I really need to ________.

Here are my responses:

I have broken probably 4 or so bones, some multiple times, over the years. The worst one thus far has been my tailbone.

What I order for breakfast if we go out depends on where we have gone. Back in the old days, I would order the breakfast buffet at Shoney’s. My very favorite part of their breakfast buffet was the potatoes. They were absolutely drool-worthy.  If we went to Hardee’s, I got a steak biscuit, also drool-worthy. If we go somewhere like McDonald’s or What-a-Burger, then I generally get a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. The places out here have no idea how to make a real steak biscuit, even though it is “Beef Country”.

As Summer officially comes to an end, I can hope for cooler weather and a Fall and all sorts of things. The fact that it won’t likely happen is beside the point. I can still hope. 🙂

Before this year is over, I really need to get my genealogy records into a form the kids can understand and use.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I like Mc’d’s bacon, egg and cheese bagels- they have some kind of yummy sauce on them that I wish I could figure out what it was and make it at home. They always burn the bagels though. Good luck with the records, that sounds like a big project. Have a nice weekend!

    • Thank you, Ellen, for hosting the fill-ins along with Annie. 🙂

Have you tried to find a copycat recipe for the McD bagels and sauce that you like? There are copycat recipes out there for all sorts of restaurant foods.

Thanks! I definitely need all the luck I can get. It is a tremendous project. 🙂

      Have a blessed weekend!

  2. Thank heaven that I only broke my ribs the one time. That was plenty. I trust that you healed okay. Bill is hauling food, again, including meat. He has been to many stockyards and processing plants in Texas, Kansas, and throughout the west/midwest. Yes! Hope. It sustains us, doesn’t it? It is the thing we hang onto when we are in the eye of the storm, always. Have a wonderful week.

    • I wish that I could say that I have healed okay, but no, I haven’t. My tailbone hurts worse with each passing day. Sitting down is torture sometimes and those donut pillow things are no help at all. My ribs, no on that one, too. They were slammed into the car door in an auto accident that totaled our car almost 25 years ago. But, one learns to live with pain and whining about it isn’t going to make it go away. It is what it is. I hope that you healed fine from your broken ribs.

I’m glad that things are going well for Bill with his job. I hope he didn’t get into any of the hurricane mess while he was down here!

Faith definitely sustained me during this most recent storm, AKA Harvey. 🙂

      Have a blessed weekend.

I am so ready for cooler weather. The summer has been wicked hot. I go out to lunch often but rarely out to breakfast. I often wish I knew more about my family but I’m too lazy to do any research.

    • We’re hoping for cooler weather, too. I hope you’ll have it soon.
If you ever want me to help you find information about your family, just let me know. I’d love to help if I can. 🙂

I think it will be next month before it cools down here so I am trying to be patient. Thanks for the offer to help with info on my family but I am not sure I really want to know the secrets that might be there. My great-grandmother was a gypsy and her son, my grandfather, from what little I know had quite a story so that would be interesting to know more about…I think.

        • One never knows what they’ll find when they start shaking the family tree. I’ve found some very interesting stories along the way about our families. There was a duel, one dude stabbed a policeman in the hand, there was a fight at a wedding…all sorts of interesting stuff. One of the coolest things to me, personally, was finding my mama’s birth announcement. 🙂 I have yet to find my own, but maybe some day. Just know the offer is here if you ever want me to help. So many have helped me along the way. I like to pay it forward.

Being patient when it is so hot out there is difficult. But, I’m trying, too.

          Have a blessed evening. 🙂

If you can’t get cold weather, i hope you at least get a cool break in the temperatures for a few months. That’s about what we get here.

    • It would be nice if that would happen. One of the days during Harvey, or maybe it was just after, it was 68 degrees here in the afternoon. That was absolutely wonderful! It made us long for lower temps even more. But, we’re back in the 90s today. Oh well. 🙂
I hope that you’ll have lots of cool, pleasant days ahead.

      Have a blessed evening.
