Welcome to Marketing for Romance Authors 52 week blog hop challenge.  Each week, a lovely group of romance authors blog on a common theme. Visit them all here.

Today we discuss social media, the on-line worlds where hang out, engage, and share our books, our ideas and sometimes our deepest secrets or desires.

Here is where I hang my virtual hat, in order of my preferences.

My blog is my favorite virtual hot spot — because I get to choose what I want to talk about, and the conversations I have on it.  I also love to merge words and pictures, another advantage to it.  Lo0k right and tell me if you agree?

Pinterest because it is visual and fun, allowing me to organize pictures and blogs and words into clusters and categories.  I enjoy it immensely but I have not figured out how to use it as a social venue.  So far, I just build my own boards around my books, reviews, writing, contests and just general interest.

Twitter, supported by Triberr.  I like the shortness of it, the necessity of getting an idea in few words. Triberr just a  neat way of sharing more widely. The downside is that its just to easy to retweet and run, rather than engaging socially.

Facebook, not my favorite. Its such an unusual mix of marketing, world news, opposing opinions, memes and life tidbits.  I like to catch up with folks and photos, but its not a place I spend a lot of time.

My favorite part of social media is I can be “social” while in my pajamas with a cup of coffee by my side.

What do you like best about social media?

    • Its definitely the best part of social media. Although with FB live, and the increasing use of skype and google hangouts, that’s changing that too.

    • OMG, the computer camera is terrible. It adds lines and contours that seem almost grotesque.
