Oh Hey, Friday! Week Recap Edition

Oh hey, Friday! It's me. I'm 39 weeks pregnant now (#timetocomeoutbaby) and I'm so glad you are here.

This week has FLOWN by I think faster than any week lately that I can think of. Even Christmas.

In spite of how quickly time is racing by, I'm trying to make time to just be still and rest and relax even a little bit. This pregnancy has put me through the ringer. It hasn't been really difficult necessarily, but it's been the hardest one for me yet and I can't say that I've loved it. Being so close to the end has given me a spurt of energy, but I've been struggling with having motivation and disciple and a good attitude lately and I hate it. This past week of dreaming and planning for 2016 has been the kick in the pants I've needed for sure.

And my husband? He's amazing. He My makes being married to a very uncomfortable and over-being-pregnant lady look so easy. It's not easy. At all. But he is a stud and I am just so, so thankful that he got to be home and stateside this holiday season! We took our tour of the hospital this week since we are new to the area (and had basically no idea where we are supposed to go when I go into labor). It made us even more excited to meet baby girl. While we were leaving the maternity floor C looked at me and said "We're ready. Let's just stay here and have her now!" I wish it were that easy.

Oh and did I mention that we have 3 CARSEATS installed in the back of our little car right now!? THREE. Even with the infant seat in there it still really hasn't hit me that our baby girl will be here so soon, but it is pretty surreal to look back there and see just how full our lives are about to be.

As for the kiddos, they have been struggling this week. T is reverting into baby talk mode and they have both been SO needy and clingy (and very competitive with each other). This is a picture of E crying (quite desperately and pathetically, might I add) into the bathroom door because "I WANT DADDDYYYYYY). She didn't leave that spot until he came out.

We think with the baby seat installed, the bassinet and pac'n'play up and just knowing that we keep talking about their baby sister has been making them insecure and wanting to test us a little bit a lot. Parenting has been intense lately (when has it not, really!?) and I know it's only going to get harder (and better!). But I'm thankful for this crazy, messy season of life. 2016 is already off to a great start and I can't wait to see what's coming next!

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you have an awesome weekend!

  3. Oh my! I can't even imagine having 3 and being new to the area. We only have 1, and not being from this area presents daily challenges. Somedays, I long to be able to just leave her with family for an hour so that I can run to Target...but there are worse things. Thank goodness for the Bjorn and a baby that loves to be social.

Good luck with your delivery!! Happy Friday, and continue to enjoy your beautiful babies :)

  4. Can you share some of that energy?! I'm at 39 weeks and pretty sure I'm going to die of exhaustion before this kid gets here.
