Stampboard Butterfly

Put your hand up if you've got any Stampboard pieces buried deep in your stash.  Put your other hand up if you've never ever used it.  Me too.  I found a small box full of one-inch square pieces, so I relocated them from the stash to my desk, and there they sat for weeks, waiting for inspiration.

So today I thought I'd swipe some Distress Inks over them, then I went looking for a suitable stamp and found this butterfly.  Stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black, and when it was all dry, I scratched some detail into it.  In case you're not familiar with Stampboard, it's MDF-type blocks covered with a clay coating, which absorbs ink, then you scratch the coloured surface to reveal white uncoloured clay underneath.  Here's a close-up:

I'm entering this into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Things That Fly

CASology - Tropical

and ShowCASE your Style - Colour

I think I'll see what else is languishing in my stash...
