My Sexy Saturday

August 1st, 2015
For this weeks My Sexy Saturday, I have an excerpt for the theme “A Very Sexy Time” from my upcoming Male/Male romance Between the Notes, releasing in just two weeks! And the cover reveal is THIS Tuesday, August 4th; so be sure to come back for that!

“What are you doing?”

Damon jumped at Michael’s voice from the doorway. “I…um…” His attempt at nonchalance failed miserably as Michael walked towards him, likewise wearing only jeans, drawing Damon’s gaze to his ripped abs. “Just admiring your bed.”

As Michael curled his arms around Damon, he said, “I could admire it much more if you were in it,” then wasted not another moment before reuniting their mouths.

Chest against chest and tongue against tongue, Michael deepened the kiss as Damon relaxed in his embrace. Their lips moved in unison, but soon their hands had their own schemes—roaming over bare skin, touching, squeezing, fondling. To every movement Michael made, Damon responded. Every urge with which Damon pressured Michael, he responded. Damon’s lack of self-control shocked him as he shoved down Michael’s jeans and wrapped his hand around his gloriously hard cock. Once they both stood starkers holding each other, their mouths never ceasing their relentless pursuits, fear no longer caused his heart to race but desire. Need.

Michael grasped the sides of Damon’s head and broke the kiss, which left them with shallow labored breaths. Meeting Damon’s eyes, he said, “Let’s get into bed.”

For the 100th My Sexy Saturday, I have a Sexy Hot Scene from my upcoming Male/Male romance Between the Notes (and let’s give it up for SCOTUS!).

“I said, get in!” Damon hadn’t intended the vitriolic note in his voice, but it brooked no argument from Michael, who hustled around and jumped in the car as Damon shut off the engine.

Michael had just closed the door and opened his mouth to speak when Damon leaped over and captured his mouth, releasing weeks of pent-up passion and years of unfulfilled need. Michael had flinched at the sudden intrusion but recovered in a split second, grabbing the back of Damon’s head and bringing him closer as their tongues wrestled in consumption more than kiss. Damon wrapped his arms around him in complete surrender, shattering any vestige of deniability.

While not the most comfortable of conditions, with the console between them, Damon’s own rod—harder than the gearshift—caused him further discomfort as it strained against the denim; but even more than wanting to free his own dick, he had an overwhelming desire to touch Michael’s. He had never had such an impulse, protecting his anonymity to the detriment of any other concerns and making him a selfish lover, if he could call himself that, always the recipient in those lurid encounters in men’s rooms or dark alleys. With his hands on Michael’s face and neck, deepening the kiss—as it could only be considered one kiss since they had not parted since his initial attack—this bore no resemblance to those rash and rushed blowjobs he received with the bass from some retched techno-music seeping through the walls.

No, this was Michael, with eyes so deep he could drown in them. Michael, whose pulse beat wildly against Damon’s hand just as his own heart thundered out of control. Michael running his hands up Damon’s shirt, touching his skin and leaving a trail of flames wherever his fingers met flesh.

Michael’s hands continued their journey downward, unbuttoning and unzipping Damon’s jeans—freeing him both literally and figuratively—then taking hold of his dick. The release and relief forced Damon to break away from Michael’s mouth just long enough for a gasp and a guttural moan. Michael gripped Damon’s shaft in his fist while running his thumb over the head, sending shockwaves up Damon’s torso and setting off fireworks behind his eyelids. Damon reached for Michael’s crotch, the hard length of him begging for attention, but here his inexperience made him falter, and heedless of his longing to hold that cock in his hand, his trembling hands fumbled with Michael’s jeans.

With dexterity, Michael unfastened his jeans while still tantalizing Damon’s cock and exploring his mouth with a tongue that tasted of wine and promise. How much better is thy love than wine—the verse emerging unbidden from the recesses of Damon’s mind as he reached into Michael’s open fly to pull out his thick, hard dick, much bigger than Damon had thought each time he tried not to think of it. His fingers traced over the fully-engorged shaft before running around the ridge and teasing the velvety head, causing Michael to groan into his demanding kiss and pull Damon closer, delving into his mouth with a thoroughness that stole his breath away.

Damon wrapped his hand around Michael’s girth and rubbed his thumb around the head with the moisture that had formed there. He circled the ridge, each touch only deepening his need. As much as Michael’s fingers caressing the top of his dick thrilled him, he could think of nothing but wanting Michael’s cock in his mouth, as if his life depended on it. He hungered to run the tip of his tongue over its head as he did with his thumb now, to feel that ridge on the roof of his mouth as his shaft slid across his tongue and deep against his throat. And his desire frightened him.

My Sexy Saturday“This week’s theme is Our Sexy Best and it brought to mind another song: Tina Turner’s The Best. If you haven’t heard this song, you should look it up because it has all the emotion needed for a hot, sexy romance. The one line that really carries this theme is the second one: Better than all the rest. This line is what this theme is all about.

“This theme has no genre, no rules except that the characters know their other half is better than all the rest. They may have had lovers before but nothing compares to the lover they are with.”

From the romantic mystery thriller DeadlineGillian is telling Sam why she can’t stay with him…

DEADLINE
“I can’t stay here forever. And all my reasons for leaving still exist. Mind-blowing sex and dominance and bondage and fulfilling my fantasies is no basis for a permanent relationship.”

He arched an eyebrow with his crooked smile. “I don’t know. Sounds pretty good to me.”

Although she laughed, she resisted when he tried to enfold her in his arms and pulled back. “You know what I mean. Because…” She glanced downward for a moment then back to his eyes. “Because I’m afraid of falling in love with you.”

Caressing her bottom lip with his thumb, he said, “I’m already in love with you.”

She closed her eyes and shook her head. “No, don’t say that. You can’t be.”

He stilled her by placing his hand upon her cheek, and she looked up at him. “I am, Gillian. I love being with you. I love taking care of you. I love that you talk dirty in bed. I love fucking you, and I love hearing you say that you want me to fuck you. I love thinking about you when we’re not even together, which I have been doing since the moment I handed you that can of chili. You’re just going to have to accept it. I am in love with you.”

My Sexy Saturday“This week’s theme is A Good Ole Sexy Time and think about things like the Dukes of Hazzard or maybe Nashville or the Appalachian Mountains. This week is about…well…normal people. You know, the boys next door, the good ole boys, the boys of summer and everything in between. There is nothing more sexy than a man at the beach or getting done with his chores or                                                                                                       doing his best at any task.”

I don’t know anything about the “Dukes of Hazzard” or even Nashville (other than the Robert Altman film), but I can offer you a sexy snippet of Sheriff Taylor hard at work in his little town up in the Adirondack Mountains….

In this scene early in the novel, erotic romance author Gillian Tate has just been pulled over by the gorgeous sheriff…

DEADLINE“Well, this is out of one of my fantasies,” Gillian said.

“What is?”

“Being pulled over by a good-looking cop and getting frisked, then…doing whatever’s necessary to get myself out of a ticket.”

He swallowed then leaned through her window and spoke against her ear. “If it weren’t the middle of the day, and if there weren’t a dash-cam on that patrol car, I’d have you step out of your vehicle, assume the position, and spread your legs.”

He stepped back as a heated flush overwhelmed her face.

“So.” She choked on the word through her nerves then cleared her throat before speaking again, catching a glimpse of his smug smile. “So, Officer, are you stopping me on official police business?”

“I do enjoy making you blush.

My Sexy Saturday“This week’s theme is A Sexy Delight and it can mean just about anything. When we first thought of this, the song Afternoon Delight came up as well as thoughts about sexy evening delights and other wondrously sexy things. Basically, this one is up to you.

Still, we want to remind you to think about lovers committing to each other, no matter where they are. The stakes can be high or there can be no stakes.”

Here is an excerpt from GFA Nominee Deadline, and the stakes couldn’t be higher as author Gillian Tate is pursued by a hate group out for blood.

Also at risk is her heart because the torrid love affair she has begun with the town sheriff frightens her as much as being the target for murder.

DEADLINETaylor tapped on her window with his nightstick. “Roll down your window and turn off the engine,” he said with an authority that would not be broached. She straightened up and did as he instructed but with her eyes directed forward. “What the hell do you think you’re doing? You’re leaving? And you’re just going to drop a bomb on me like that over the radio and then run off? I don’t think so.”

“My best friend is dead, my friends and family are in danger. I can’t just hide up here.”

“And what about us?”

She shook her head. “That’s why I have to go now. There is no ‘us.’ There can’t be an ‘us.’”

“Goddamnit, look at me, Gillian!” He thumped the roof of the car with the bottom of his nightstick, and she jumped. She turned to him with shining bloodshot eyes as he leaned into the window. “Why can’t there be an ‘us’?”

“Our lives are just too different. You’re the police chief in this tiny town up here practically in Canada. I live in the City, and I have this writing career that has me traveling all over the world. I can’t stay here. I need to leave before we get in too deep.”

“I hate to tell you this, sweetheart, but we already are in deep.”

“This week’s theme is My Sexy Love. The first thing we thought of with this theme was Hands of Love by Wall of Voodoo. Or how about Corey Hart and Sunglasses at Night. Maybe a little of Art of Noise and Moments in Love. Then there’s the Fine Young Cannibals and She Drives Me Crazy or Chris Issac with Wicked Game. These are the things that help drive writers to write. Music, songs and the people who sing them. And we aren’t forgetting the now generation with songs like Your Love Is My Drug or Like Yesterday and the hundreds of others that remind us each and every day why we write romance. There is something special in writing about love and how two people, sometimes more, can find how important it is. It’s special to us as writers if we find a song or a series of songs that epitomize that love story.”

Here is an excerpt from my upcoming Male/Male romance Between the Notes, except in this scene the handsome prosecutor Michael is serenading the very-much-in-the-closet rock star….

As Michael stroked the strings into E Minor 7, he whispered more than sang the words, so low Damon had to strain to hear, “I heard he sang a good song…”

Damon recognized it even before Michael reached the chorus—“Killing Me Softly with His Song”—striking a chord within Damon’s chest with more force than his fingers struck the strings. My pain. My life. My dark despair. No, he couldn’t possibly know. Michael’s voice was not strong, and yet it had the power to rip off layer after layer of the protective cocoon Damon had woven around himself, leaving him bare, raw, and vulnerable—completely at his mercy—sending a chill of awareness rippling down his spine. Awareness of him. Of Michael.

Perhaps because of the raspy, ethereal nature of Michael’s voice, a surge of need forhis physical body poured over Damon. The places he imagined touching Michael burned his own skin. He wanted to run his hands across the flesh of his back, and the very thought scorched him, each finger pressed against his ribs until he thought he might spontaneously combust.

And then it was Michael’s hand he imagined, holding tight where Damon’s shoulder met his neck, stealing his breath as Michael’s heat melded into him, fusing them together. Yet they had not touched, the searing heat only in Michael’s song.

Damon’s hands ached with the need to be against Michael’s chest, sending a trembling urgency through his arms, into his heart, and up his throat until he would have been rendered mute if required to speak, let alone sing. Instead, this sensation coursed through his face, warming his cheeks and ears, prickling his sinuses and bringing him to the brink of tears—for longing, aching, needing…to touch him and be touched in return. That chill now replaced with a fever flooding through him, as if he had the flu, flushed his face and torso, increasing the strength and speed of his heartbeat until it must surely pound out of his chest.

“Was it that bad?”

Damon had no clue how long he had sat, still in thrall with Michael’s song, after it had ended, gawking at him like an idiot. Talk. Words. Speech. Damon’s head bobbled, both in response to Michael’s question and to rouse him from his trance. “No, it was brilliant.” Even forcing the words out, they slipped from his lips like spittle.

“This week’s theme is One Sexy Night. Have you ever heard of a moment in time, day or night, that changes everything? That one sexy night can right all life’s wrongs, make the old new again and help our characters find the love of their lives. For this week’s theme, we are making that special moment happen during the night time. One sexy night that will have our characters wanting a lifetime of special moments with that extraordinary someone. It is during that time when sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, we realize the life we knew before that moment no longer exists. We can no longer look at things the same way as before.”

From the romantic mystery thriller Deadline: This is a follow-up to Taylor and Gillian’s Sexy First Date

DEADLINEThey walked along the lake, the crescent moon reflected in its waters, speaking of nothing and everything. At some point, either by accident or on purpose, their hands bumped together, and he took hers and held it as they continued down the shoreline accompanied by an orchestra of wildlife. He shone his flashlight at a hooting owl and tried to catch the eyes of a deer or a coyote on the other side of the lake.

They arrived at her cabin, and she turned around to face him. “Well, this is the street where I live.”

“So what did you decide?” he asked. “Was this a date?”

The corners of her lips rose, exposing her teeth in the glint of the moon. “I think so. Yes.”

“Good. Then I can do this.”

Taylor caught her off guard, pulling her tight against him as his mouth overtook hers.

She did not resist, though. She raised her hands to rest upon his shoulders and, closing her eyes, opened her mouth to submit, accepting his tongue against her own, as a ribbon of heat rippled through them both.

My Sexy Saturday“This week’s theme is My Sexy Date. Not every couple falls in love at first sight. Sure, many do know the moment they see someone but what about those who don’t. They go on dates. Sometimes lots of dates. Sometimes not enough dates. Hopefully there is at least one they can consider a sexy date. The type where fireworks goes off from the moment they are picked up. This week is about those dates that turn into that special one.”

From the romantic mystery thriller Deadline: Gillian and Sam’s first date…or is it?

DEADLINE

“Oooh, actual wine glasses,” she said, accepting it from him. As he poured one for himself, she took in his tall, muscular form dressed in tight jeans and a blue plaid shirt, the top few buttons open to expose a hint of hair on his chest. “I’ve been wondering what you looked like out of your uniform.”
His eyebrows bounced up with his short laugh, then he turned to clink their glasses together while keeping his eyes on hers. “Cheers, and welcome to the neighborhood.”
“Thank you, Chief Taylor.”
“Just Sam. I am out of uniform.”
They sipped the robust wine, then she rolled it around in her mouth before swallowing and licking the center of her lips with the tip of her tongue. “Well, Sam, can I ask you something? Is this just a casual, ‘welcome to the neighborhood’ dinner, or is this a date?”
“What do you want it to be?”
Her gaze dropped to his open shirt then up to his mouth and back to his eyes before she took another sip from her glass. “Can I decide afterwards?”
Raising his hand to her face, he rubbed his thumb across her bottom lip to wipe away the non-existent drop of wine there, her shallow, rabid breaths warm against his skin. “Of course.”

“This week’s theme is Their Sexy Thoughts. When characters think about each other in a sexy, exciting way, we as readers adore them. We love hearing about how the hero thinks the heroine is sexy and loving and oh so much more as the story progresses. As writers, we love putting those words down and getting them just right.”

Here is a scene from my upcoming Male/Male romance Between the Notes:

Damon lifted his head away from puppy kisses and turned his eyes up to Michael with a devastating smile. “C’mon, I can’t be all bad if your dog likes me.” After a final rub behind the dog’s ears, he stood and walked back toward the front of the house with Jacques following, tongue and tail wagging. “See you tomorrow, Michael.”

The door opened and closed and a car engine revved away before Michael’s senses returned enough to realize he had never written that check.

******

With his heart racing and heat climbing up his back, Damon feigned a calm demeanor and got the hell out of there, away from that subtle smile and those piercing dark eyes staring down as he scratched the dog’s ears. He jumped in his car and sped off toward the freeway. Free, away from temptation.

In Rellman’s office the day before, Damon had tried to ignore that invisible thread of fire between them, told himself he had imagined it, probably because he had fantasized about Michael while that girl had tried to get his dick’s attention. After that, facing the man roused embarrassment, as if he could read Damon’s thoughts. He decided Michael had used some prosecutor’s tactic, a trick to unhinge him, holding him prisoner in his gaze. Hell, he had no reason even to suspect Michael was gay—nothing camp about him—and considering Michael thought Damon tried to seduce his niece, he certainly had no suspicions of his own.

Then staring up at him from the floor, when their eyes met, Damon knew he hadn’t imagined the attraction, at least on his side. He worried he gawked at Michael in the same way he had described Julia, like a bride-to-be or a lovesick puppy. Bloody hell. He had a crush on the man who tried to throw him in jail and who made clear still had a strong aversion to him. But those dark, penetrating eyes and that hint of a smile on his full lips told a different story.

Damon glanced at the clock. Not even seven. Too early to go to a club, and that’s what he needed: a blind, anonymous hookup to take his mind off this man.

Michael Rellman would be his kryptonite.
