Wednesday Hodgpodge

Hey! 3 posts in one day! Get out!  My Z post went up first, the A - Z challenge recap and the Hodgepodge! Record day, people!

1. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Are you blooming where you're planted as we begin the month of May?
Um. I think I'm blooming.  I'm a pretty adaptable person so I'll bloom wherever and however I need to. Especially when I've been hit with a good dose of vitamin D!  Which I have been. AND, I brought the sun back with me! The forecast for the day is sunny and 83 and even warmer tomorrow!  Crazy early for this here neck of the woods!  We'll take it.

2. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being no big deal, and 10 being full scale panic, rank your fear of spiders.
I'd say I'm a 6.  I think they're icky and disgusting but all out freaked out by them is not where I'd place my ranking.

Interestingly enough B posted this instagram picture this morning . . . .

Now, HE for some reason is not that fazed by spiders.  The fact that he got close enough to place the bottle cap for size reference is freaky enough.  Now.  As for leaving the dead one there . . . . tsk.

3. May is National Salad Month (who knew???)...besides lettuce, what are two must-have ingredients in your favorite salad?
As for my all out favorite salad, I'd say it would be a beet salad - lettuce being secondary to it's ingredients.

If we're talking a lettuce salad -  I love Butter lettuce and after that, I'd say if Avocado and croutons are involved, I'm pretty happy.  Last week in Palm Springs, Miss G made the salad for dinner on Easter and she added apples, grapes and strawberries with a strawberry vinaigrette dressing and it was fabulous.

4. I mentioned on my blog last week that my Daughter1 will be moving to Washington State after she is married. Of the following sites in the Northwest, which would you most like to see in person-Crater Lake (Oregon), Seattle (Washington), Vancouver (British Columbia), San Juan Islands (Washington),  Mt. Rainer (Washington) Oregon Coast (Oregon), Mt. St. Helens (Washington), or Olympic National Park (Washington)
Of all that are listed, I've only not been to the San Juan Islands so I'd pick that.  That said, you simply cannot go wrong with any of the sites.
Well. Mt. St. Helens can be a tad boring. But hey, if you haven't seen a blown volcano yet then yeah, it might could be interesting, I suppose.  Ha.

5. This coming weekend marks the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby...when did you last race (literally or figuratively) to cross a finish line?
Oh shoot.  Well, we all know it would be figuratively.  {ahem} So that said, I'd say I had a lot of prep work to do before we left for 10 days so that would be my answer.

6. What is something little you love?
I love coming home after a trip and getting into my own bed with my ceiling fan spinning above me and I love getting back into the car after not driving for days.
And I love that I got this text from Miss K.A. . . .

Hey! Maybe she missed me.  :)

7. Would you say you are more of a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? Elaborate.
Okay so who else had to look up - kinesthetic?  I could figure out what it meant based on the question but I looked it up to be sure.

Anyway . . . I'd say I'm a visual learner.  I prefer to see examples.  I can tend to zone out and forget to listen to directions.  Ha.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I'm trying like the dickens to get back into sync since returning to real life.  You'd think it would be easy enough.  I mean, it's not like I have to go back to work or anything.  But for some reason I thought scheduling multiple appointments RIGHT when I returned would be a good idea.  Any yet, I still did the Hodgepodge!

Come on you're impressed, aren't you?!

Oh yikes! That spider is enough to make me shudder just by looking at the picture.

Isn't tweeting with the young ones just the best? Welcome back from time away - and back to reality!

I just got home this morning. My flight last night was cancelled which is always fun! and I was rebooked onto a 6 am flight this morning. Ugh. I feel like I've run a marathon and it's not even 11 am. There is a nap in my afternoon plans! I love being away, but coming home feels great too!
