Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's one of the highlights of my week...Hodgepodge! I love how our host, Joyce, gives us questions each week that really make you think. So, if you're interested in joining in on all the fun, just click on the button. You'll head right over to her blog where you'll find the list of questions. Answer them on your own blog and link up. It's so worth it!

1.  April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. Are you blooming where you're planted as we begin the month of May? I would definitely say so! Once wintertime has moved on out, I feel like a new person! I've turned over some new leaves, even let go of some things that have been holding me down, and I feel 10x's lighter. In the other sense of blooming, flowers and trees are popping out all over the place. I'm in heaven!

2.  On a Scale of 1-10, with 1 being no big deal, and 10 being full-scale panic, rank your fear of spiders. For the most part, I'd say I'm hovering around about a 4 or a 5. Now, if a spider pounces on me or is the size of my fist, that number can easily exceed a 10 in a nano-second!

3.  May is National Salad Month (who knew???)...besides lettuce, what are two must-have ingredients in your favorite salad?  Carrot matchsticks and blue cheese dressing.

4.  I mentioned on my blog last week that Daughter 1 will be moving to Washington State after she is married. Of the following sites in the Northwest, which would you most like to see in person-Crater Lake (Oregon), Seattle (Washington), Vancouver (British Columbia), San Juan Islands (Washington), Mt. Rainier (Washington), Oregon Coast (Oregon), Mt. St. Helen's (Washington), or Olympic National Park (Washington)? I'm going with Mt. Rainier, Washington. I've always loved the mountains, particularly snow-capped ones. Talk about an unforgettable view!  I'd be one picture-taking fool!

5. This coming weekend marks the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby...when did you last race to cross a finish line? Well, back in May of 2007, I entered a local 5K Memorial Day race. I placed 1st in my age group, My time was 24:59 and I was never so happy to see a finish line in all my life! It was a hilly course and I thought the end would never come! Here's my medal...

6.  What is something little you love? Definitely, our two dogs, Bella and Maddie. Just look at those precious faces...

7.  Would you say you are more of a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? Elaborate. I'm a hand's on kind of gal, so that would make me a kinesthetic learner.  Of course, I do even better if I can have a combination of hearing, seeing, and doing all at once.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Well, Abby's interview at Gold's Gym went well! She should know something by the end of the week. I'm hoping and praying she gets the job!

Have a super day, friends!

Good luck to Abby! I said one of my little dogs, too! I adore both of them, but the one I mentioned is in the very last stage of her life. (Bummer)

I hope she gets the job also! It's so difficult these days to land a job with the number of applicants trying for the same position!!!

LOVE your 'little things you love'!! Sweet, x2!!

And thanks, April, for inviting me to view your hawk image! Wow!!!! It's a beauty. As is the swan. Ya, to be that graceful and limber.

Oh, and one more thing...congrats on your accomplishment of being first in the 5k run. That's awesome.

I am loving the blooming flowers, too. The smell of jasmine hit me at the mailbox yesterday and I just had to stop and breathe for a little while - is there any better fragrance in the world??
You sound very happy! Good for you!

Congrats, April, on your 5K. Are you going to do it again?

Sweet doggies. We have two also and I love them, but there's no way I can call them little. LOL

Love that spider pic.

Praying that Abby gets that job.

I am a kinesthetic learner too ... I didn't realize that there was a name for that. I knew that I wasn't at all an auditory learner ... thought I was a visual learner except I need something a little more hands on than just watching a video tutorial. Now I know.

Hi friend! Wow - First in your age group? That's so awesome! I saw a hilarious tank top yesterday that said "I run... I may move slower than molasses through a peanut butter swamp, but I run!" That would be me! :-)

Good morning! Definitely a kinesthetic learner over here too though I have always called a "hands on" learner too. I did pray for Abby last night when I read about her interview. Sure hope she gets the job...it sounds perfect! Enjoy your day!

Congrats on the 5k! I'm looking forward to faster times so I can come home with more than an apple and a T-shirt. :)

Cute puppy, by the way.

One of my favorite days too! So many people posted spider photos....why? Glad yours is a funny one and not real. First place, way to go! I picked my dog too, they are so precious. Glad the interview went well, praying she gets it.
