TOS Homeschool Crew Review - Travel The World

Today I will be reviewing The Old Schoolhouse's 56 page PDF e-book, Travel the World. The cost is $7.95.

Many topics are covered in this book including:
  • What is Geography?
  • What's an Accurate Model of the Earth?
  • Globes and Maps
  • Oceans
  • Continents

There are also a great selection of activities to do with your student including:
  • a song sheet
  • fill in the blank worksheets
  • word puzzles
  • links to online lapbook activities
  • coloring pages
  • copywork pages
  • recipes

(There is also a high school expansion section for a more in depth study for your upper level student.)

The first thing I noticed about The Travel the World e-book was the table of contents. All chapters and pages are titled and hyper linked to their location in the book. I absolutely love this feature because it makes it incredibly easy to find what you are looking for within the book. Just click and you're there!

The inclusion of scripture throughout the book was very important to me. As a follower of Christ who wants to raise my children to do the same, using scripture to reinforce every topic I teach is of incredible value. Scripture is also included in the copywork section which I thought was great.

There is a resource section that includes a number of links to outside websites that can be used to reinforce what you are studying. Most of the websites and resources are completely free to use and offer a wide range of information, images and online activities. The TOS resource section offers links to the plethra of books and e-books offered by The Old Schoolhouse to reinforce and expand upon what your child has learned in Travel the World.

This product has been an absolute joy to our family. My upcoming 1st grader really took to the concepts and it really got him thinking and asking questions. The wording in this book is very simple and easy to understand. The material is easy to customize for any student on any grade level. I love the simplicity of the layout and usability. And the fact that all the work is done for me is wonderful Could it get any easier?

Disclaimer: The Old Schoolhouse provided me with this item for free to test and use in order to write my honest review.
