Crafting: Corkboard loveliness!

Things have been SO busy around here, I haven't done much crafting!
I do, however, have a list on my iMac of things I want to create, and while at Hobby Lobby, I
bought some supplies for my newest project!

I'm an organizer. I could spend an hour or two in the planning/organizing aisles in Target/Walmart/any store! I love daily planners, even though I really don't use them much because I put everything on our big calendar. Anyway, with tball, and my hubby's crazy work schedule, we have to plan our weeks accordingly. And sometimes we have certain papers that tell us certain schedules (like tball games), that we can't stick on our stainless steel fridge, because only the side of it is magnetic. I conquered that issue with our kids artwork display board, but I wanted something for my office area of the house.

And that's where corkboard & cute fabric came into play. :)

I found a 16x36 inch corkboard at HL for $14, and the cute fabric was on sale! I got a yard & a quarter yard of it for $4, and have some left over for something else!
I cut it accordingly..
Got my trusty glue gun out, and glued the fabric to the board
I folded the edges somewhat like a present, then glued those as well, and voila!
Done with that part of my project!
I had this gorgeous color on hand..
And used it on some frames I had above the computer.
I distressed them with sandpaper, and put the pics back in!
Love it!
Whatcha think? Cute huh!!
The corkboard came with sticky adhesives, but I used my strong adhesive tape
to hang them up. I actually super glued the back part of the tape on because it kept falling off being that
the back of the corkboard wasn't smooth.
I just love the pop of color.

So here's the before: (Notice the frames, those are the ones I painted!)

After!! I'm lovin' my new workspace. :)
Cheap and super easy project!
FINALLY linking to all my fave parties again!!  :)

Hey, great project, just have a quick question...was this the rolled up cork or did you actually cover the framed cork board. Just curious because I want to try it and I've got the rolled up cork and didn't know how that would work as a standalone piece. =) Love your after...hope I can come up with something as cute!
