Action Alert: What’s In Your Milk? — It Will NOT Be On The Label!

Action Alert: What’s In Your Milk? — It Will NOT Be On The Label! post image

You will not believe what they want to do to commercial milk — the milk served in schools to children.  As if this milk isn’t bad enough — the lowfat versions are devoid of the important fat that makes it taste good, deadened from pasteurization, full of pesticide residues and hormones… can it get any worse? Yes it can and we need your help to prevent it!

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) are asking the FDA to alter the definition of milk to include chemical sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose without listing these additives on the label.

The petition to the FDA is directed towards replacing sugar in flavored milks served to school children with artificial sweeteners. At the same time, they are asking for the right to put hidden artificial sweeteners in a host of dairy products including nonfat dried milk (this is always added to reduced-fat milks), yogurt, cream, half-and-half, sour cream, eggnog and whipping cream. No conventional dairy product will be safe if the FDA allows this — and we know how much the FDA protects the public.

Aspartame is a Poison

There are over 92 side effects associated with aspartame. Some of these symptoms include, abdominal pain, anxiety attacks, brain cancer, breathing difficulties, chronic fatigue, depression, headaches, migraines, dizziness, marked personality changes, memory loss, panic attacks, rapid heartbeat, vision loss and weight gain. It is a known neurotoxin and excitotoxin.

Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than sugar. It is made of 50 percent phenylalanine, 40 percent aspartic acid and ten percent methanol.

Aspartic Acid

Russell Blaylock, author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills, and a neurosurgery professor at the Medical University of Mississippi, describes aspartic acid as an isolated amino acid that is just as toxic as glutamate or MSG. It is a chemical that excites the brain and alters the developing brain of newborn infants, permanently resulting in hyperactivity and other behavior changes in children.

Phenylalanine

Phenylalanine is an amino acid. Phenylketonuria is a genetic disorder that prevents the utilization of phenylalanine, causing a buildup in the body. This can be very dangerous. It has been shown that ingesting aspartame together with carbohydrates can cause increased levels in the body even for those not suffering from Phenylketonuria. Excess phenylalanine in the body causes the serotonin levels to drop. This may lead to emotional disorders like depression.

Methanol

Methanol is a neurotoxin and an extremely harmful substance. It breaks down into formaldehyde and formic acid. Formaldehyde interferes with DNA reproduction, retinal damage and birth defects. The symptoms for methanol poisoning have been reported to include dizziness, nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, memory lapses and numbness. One liter of an aspartame sweetened drink contains about 56 mg of methanol. This is way over the recommended consumption limit of 7.8mg/day.

Other Problems with Aspartame and Sucralose

Thousands of adverse reactions to aspartame have been reported to the FDA, mostly concerned with abnormal brain function, brain tumors, epilepsy and Parkinson’s.
People who are sensitive to aspartame can have life-threatening reactions to it.

Raw Fresh Milk is the Best Choice

If you can get raw milk from a local farmer who you trust, that is the best choice. It is very easy to make cultured dairy products from your own fresh milk.

The proposed regulations restrict our freedom of choice. Industry players who oppose consumers’ ability to choose raw milk are now trying to force consumers to consume artificial additives without their knowledge or consent.

They may as well put arsenic in the milk and not label it — it will be just as toxic as putting aspartame in the milk.

Actions to Take to Prevent this Atrocity

    Not that I want this to happen but the FDA would still require aspartame to be labeled in the ingredient list. They just want to skip the “sugar-free” or “reduced-calorie” labels. http://www.nmpf.org/latest-news/press-releases/feb-2013/national-milk-producers-federation-statement-regarding-non-nutri

      At least consumers would know what was in the milk, though, and would have the ability to opt out of purchasing that product. I still agree with you, though. Even though aspartame would probably be required to be labeled, most people would not even know they were eating it. So, we will just have to keep educating the public in the appropriate manner. We do not always have to vote with a piece of paper or our words. Sometimes we can vote with our money, actions, and decisions…

    @Brittany,
    Skipping the “sugar-free” or any other labeling is with the intention of misleading the consumer for monetary reasons. I take my information from the Weston Price Foundation Action Alerts. I trust them not to be misleading or exaggerating in any way.

    @Abby,
    Right, most people would not IMAGINE they would allow aspartame to be in milk and would not even read the label. This is just another issue with milk that most people would be unaware of.

    America has been “brainwashed” to think commercial milk is good for you. Doctors are even taught that children should drink low fat commercial milk to avoid obesity. Overweight Americans have been convinced “low fat” and “low calorie” processed foods are healthy choices. These lies have been spread across America to increase the wealth of corrupt food manufacturers that want us all addicted to chemicals to keep us buying their products that makes us fat and sick. The govt had made raw milk difficult to access for those that do not live near dairy farmers yet often times this milk is polluted with hormones and antibiotics. Organic raw milk is even more difficult to access. We must quit relying on Gov’t ads to tell us the truth. Get away from the TV and learn the true benefits of organic whole foods and the dangers of food produced by the “big company” commercial food industry. Good resources are all over the Internet and still available in most libraries. Read, Research, Educate, Grow, Harvest and be Healthy. No milk is far better than drinking the poisoned, pasteurized milk found in most grocery stores across the nation. “Got Milk?” Learn what it really is inside that jug or carton. Begin supporting your local organic farmers.

    Sadly, we don’t have farmer nearby our community so my wife gets milk supplies on grocery stores. If the labels of such dairy products won’t include all substances it’s made of, we can’t assure that it’s safe to consume or can cause illnesses. I would love to sign up for the petition for I believe all consumers have the right to know all details about the products they about to pay with their money with.

    I am far too old to buy any conventional dairy products, because I need to preserve my health, so for me personally, one more batch of poisons added will be immaterial. But how will any of us cope with all the chaos that consumers of the even-worse products will cause, and all the friends who use these products and become ill, etc etc etc? Sorrowful prospects…
