Let the Unity Games Begin! (WCMD Challenges)

So for the last two weeks my blog has been really quiet... abnormally quiet, but it's with good reason.  I have been a busy little cr8've bee making cards for the numerous (8 in total) challenges from Unity Stamp's World Card Making Day celebration.

I don't want this to be a super long post, because I made cards for ALL 8 challenges (they're awesome prizes in store & I finally have enough Unity Stamps to make 8 different cards).

Challenge #1: SHAPED CARDS
Using an itty bitty stamp, "to the bitty moon," & cr8'd my shaped card by using one of my Spellbinders labels.

Challenge #2:  It's all about texture!
Using "Loads of Love" stamp set & added textures with a gross-grain ribbon, heat embossed the sentiment, covered the towels in white flock, & glossy accents to the iron, the heart in the sentiment, & the hearts on the detergent container.
Here's a closer look at some of the textures on my card cr8'ion:

Challenge #3:  Embossing
Using "You melt my heart" stamp set & snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug) & heat embossed the snowman (I actually used glue as my base before covering it with clear embossing powder. {This was kinda, sorta a happy mistake - not my original intention - b/c it turned out to cr8 the look of actually snow/ice.}  I hope that shows in my 2nd picture; it even feels like it - minus the freezing cold aspect, of course.)
You can see the detail of the embossing on the snowman better in my 2nd picture of the card.

Challenge #4:  Sketch
Used the "Rain or Shine" stamp set & stamped the image using Distress Inks old paper, so as to cr8 a softer edge to the image.  Once it was colored in with Copics, it really took on the feel of seeing this couple, as if from a distance, as they stood outside in the rain sharing some tender moment.

Challenge #5:  Fall Theme
Using "Happy Thanksgiving" set for this card & cr8'd a tag with the sentiment.

Challenge #6: Stamp a Border
Again this card is using stamps from "Loads of Love." (I really got great use of this set, by using it in several cards... you'll see.) To cr8 the stamped border, I used the larger heart from this set; I cut out those images from the pattern paper & adhered it to the striped paper.  I did similarly for "happy heart" & the cluster of hearts.

Challenge #7:  Coloring
For this card I used the "Follow Your Heart" stamp; colored it in using my Prisma pencils.

...and the final challenge (yes, we're finally here).

Challenge #8:  Color Challenge: Cream, Brown, Olive and Pumpkin
For my final card I used the "Thinking of Who?" stamp set.
Well, those are all my cards.  Gee, I hope it wasn't TOO long.  It was a great amount of fun doing all these challenges... why not, for such a great chance(s) at some Unity prizes.  (I love me some Unity Stamps!!)

Thanks for lingering a bit longer to look at all my cr8'ions!

Happy Cr8'ing!
