Crafting: DIY Anthropologie 'Foliage Flowing' T-shirt Refashion

I purchased a grey T-shirt on clearance at Old Navy
a few months back,
in hopes that I might find something cute & crafty to do with it.

Then, I was dreaming through Anthropologie's website last week,
and stumbled onto the "Foliage Flowing" Tee.
It looked very close to the grey tee I already had,
so I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's my version!
(I'm not a stick thin model, mind you! ha.)

Here's the Anthro version...

As I was purchasing the lace to applique onto the shirt,
my son pulled the black lace bolt off the rack...
and at 1st I was a bit annoyed.
Then I did a double take!! lol.
I actually liked the thought of black lace on grey better!
If you'd like to make one too, then look no further.

Here's what I did:
1. Purchased 3 different kinds of lace (1/4yd ea) with flowers that I could cut out to make appliques.
2. Also purchased Liquid Stitch (but you could also use Heat'nBond, too) to attach the appliques.
3. Cut out the flowers, and put onto the T-shirt to make your desired pattern. You can pin it on with safety pins and try it on to make sure you like your placement if you'd like.
4. Apply Liquid Stitch, and allow to dry for 24 hours.
5. You can also go sew it  a little with a needle & thread to make it more secure if you'd like.

ENJOY wearing your piece of art! And more than likely receiving compliments, too. :)
(I was excited to wear it tonight to our social event!)

Cute! Is it washable? Or does the liquid starch wash out then?

Really great job! I definitely like your black lace version better than Antho's version! Way to go! Maybe you should drop them a line...do they have a "suggestion box"? Hmmm...
:0)
