Chick-fil-a Upcycling

Have you tried the tortilla soup from Chick-fil-a?? It's delicious!  It's a thicker tortilla soup than some may be used to but I love it none the less.  It comes with the perfect little kick too without being too spicy.

Since I'm a lucky member of the Chick-fil-a mom panel I was challenged to a DIY upcycling of the chicken tortilla soup container.  It's a simple black plastic container with a clear snap on lid.
We spend an awful lot of time in the car and at baseball fields.  My two oldest play tournament baseball and our weekend tournaments are loooonnng and sometimes far away.  So I'm always looking for new things to occupy my two youngest.  They're too little to actually watch the games so I'm always bringing backpacks of activities for them to help pass the time.

I decided to upcycle my soup container into a look and find container.  It was pretty easy actually.  I just filled it with sand and a bunch of different small toys.  I glued the lid on so I don't need to worry about the sand spilling out all over the car.  My two youngest can flip it around finding new toys.
And they just love the sound of the sanding moving around the container.

New Designs at Oh My Baby

It's been busy at Oh My Baby.  We've been working on a lot of new designs lately.  Most notably, the addition of many new applique designs.  These have been so much fun to work with!  The best part is that most of the designs work on all of our products including our personalized burp cloths, personalized shirts and personalized baby blankets.   All of our appliques can be customized by choosing any of fabric we offer to match a theme or color scheme.  As always, if you're looking for something specific, just ask!  We can almost always accommodate any special requests.

A few of my favorite applique designs are

The Owl applique.  A great example of a personalized burp cloth with owl applique.  This can easily be changed to blue for any new baby boy too.

This train applique with patchwork fabric is one of my favorite combinations.  The patchwork fabric looks great on so many designs and initials.

The adorable happy crab will look great on any personalized shirt or personalized burp cloth.

Our personalized birthday shirts have been quiet popular lately.  And we've just added a new birthday hat design.  The birthday hat design can easily be changed to pink to fit the birthday girl in your life.

Make sure you check out Oh My Baby again soon!  We've been working on a lot of great new holiday designs and will be posting pictures soon.

General Mills bringing back some old favorites

Do you remember these delicious cereals from when you were a kid??  Did I just give away my age?  I haven't seen General Mills' Count Chocula, Franken Berry or Boo Berry cereals in the grocery aisle since I was a kid.  Like most kids, the marshmallows were my favorite and I would always sneak a few extra out of the box.

For a limited time, Target stores will be carrying all 3 vintage monster theme cereals.  These cereals combine chocolate, blueberry and strawberry flavored cereal with colorful marshmallow shapes that both kids and adults enjoy.  Each serving of the monster-themed cereal has no cholesterol or saturated fat and provide a good source of whole grain, calcium, and nine essential vitamins and minerals

As you can see, my boys were definitely enjoying their bowls of cereal.  Luckily we were able to try all 3 flavors because my boys each have their own favorite flavor.  The Boo Berry was the first one finished in just 3 days.

Want to try your own box of General Mills' cereal?  One Oh My Baby reader will win a prize pack containing 3 boxes of cereal including Franken Berry, Count Chocula and Boo Berry and a $20 gift card to Target.  Enter your comments below by 11:59pm EST on November 15th.  Winner will have 48 hours to respond.  U.S. addresses only please.  Good Luck!
