Trickle to Flood (Feline Friday), Friendly Fill-Ins and Nature Friday

 ***********************************

Feline Friday was originally started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude (may he rest in peace), and i'm going to believe it's because he liked cats.

He handed hosting duties off to Sandee at Comedy Plus, and now she's entrusting it to me.

Feline Friday is simple to join.  All you have to do is: Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (they may be silly or cute).  Then add your link!

One thing for sure is this is a fun and easy meme to do.  So come and join us in Feline Friday.

What better way to start the weekend than with a feline!

It starts as a trickle and ends in a flood.

Kitten season is upon us, and we see more every week at the shelter.

Please spay and neuter your pets, adopt if you can and want to share your home with a pet, and spread the word.  We do what we can, but we can't do everything alone.

***********************************

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!      /

Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:

1. I ____________ but not ________________.

2. Just because I __________ doesn’t mean ___________________.

3. Am I the only one who _________?

4. I used to _________, but then I learned _________.

1. I   try to work hard  but not   so hard as to injure myself or burn out.

2. Just because I   eat a weirdo vegetarian diet   doesn’t mean   i won't come to your house for dinner, i'll just bring along something i can have that we can all share if you'd like to try it.

3. Am I the only one who   never, ever catches up on blog reading and sleeping?

4. I used to   just use a pumice stone to descale a toilet,  but then I learned   about using drywall sanding screen and Ring King.  Now i use all three until one of them works!

Unfair, a Six Sentence Story

 ***********************************

The playing field is not level.

While I'm sorry to have to break it to you, the playing field is not now, never has been, and never will be level.

The vulnerability and deep need of the very young and weak, along with their engaging cuteness and winsome ways, means they will always win out.

Cookie, you are a much loved 3-year-old house princess, and you have been upstaged by an upstart.

It is simply the way it is, your little sister Emmie, until she has outgrown the puppy stage or at least until she is housebroken, will get much more than what you feel is her share of the attention and affection.

And for now, at least, she has stolen your bed.

Sometimes It Doesn’t Work Out (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

We did our level best.

Ms. G and i got the rooms properly measured, the stair trims nailed back on, the microwave cleaned.

While i was able to get the old cabinet and drawer knobs off in the kitchen (all 27 of them), we were not able to put the new ones on, as Amazon said they would be delivered that day, but the time could be anywhere from noon to 8pm and they still hadn't come when i left her house after 4pm.  She also needs a bigger drill bit to make the holes bigger as the new knobs have slightly bigger screws and need to go all the way through.

Ms. G's real estate signs are over there all ready to be put up and the owner/seller has been sent a picture of the seven flooring samples to choose a color so the new flooring can be installed (which will be done while it's up for sale, believe it or not, they just don't want to wait much longer).

Ms. G was hoping to have this place on the market already and be out of town in her RV for the rest of the week, and we've tried, but it looks like this one just isn't going to work in her favor.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

I liked the contrast between the dark red wood fence and the lighter fence with the sun gleaming off of it, and lighting up the children's toys in the yard beyond.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

No need to call me chubby

though I've grown a little tubby

I thought I could get through

now I don't know what to do!

Don't ask me how I did it,

I know now I was a nitwit,

I really need some aid,

someone call the fire brigade!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful I did not lose my cool with someone who was frustrating me awfully.  It would have made the situation worse and I'm thankful a quick prayer kept my words in check.
